I’m 74 years old, and for around 6 years, I’ve experienced knee pain in my right knee.

– Painful when rising from a seated position
– Painful when standing for any period of time
– Very painful climbing and descending stairs.
– Unable to bend the knee without pain.

I’ve had 2 X rays on the knee with osteoarthritis showing as the cause so in mid July 2025, I had an appointment with David Roxburgh at Bearsden Physio. An assessment and a look at a more recent X-ray took place, after which David suggested I may indeed benefit from a CINGAL injection.

He explained the basic contents of the injection and how it could improve my condition/pain.

An appointment was arranged at Bearsden Physiotherapy for 4th August, and David administered the CINGAL injection, which was totally painless.

The following is a summation of the knee improvement since Injection Day.

The following morning , the usual severe stiffness in the knee had significantly reduced. So much so, that I was able to walk down the stairs normally, slowly, but in normal fashion, no dragging the leg behind me

Day by day the improvement was just so beneficial to me, no pain in climbing stairs and walking much better. Mobility from a seated position is now normal.

I can do the recommended exercises now without pain. In fact, I really enjoy them!

I had a further appointment on 18th August with David.

Knee bend is almost complete with no pain.

Strengthening exercises can be executed without pain. I feel the stretches after exercise, but walk it off and just so happy to have this ability returned!

So far, CINGAL has really worked for me, I’ll follow the plan and onwards and upwards!!
